Dental Restoration in Burlington
Dental restoration is the art and science of restoring the function and appearance of teeth that have been damaged. We provide a full range of restorative services to keep you smiling.
A dental filling is used to repair a tooth that is decayed or broken. To fill a tooth, we remove any existing decayed areas and prepare the tooth, then we fill it with a silver amalgam or composite filling.
A tooth requires a crown when it needs to be completely repaired. Some common examples of when we’d use a crown are to repair a tooth that has a very large cavity or has been damaged, or to restore a tooth after root canal treatment. The crown is custom designed to fit over the tooth and is usually made from metal, porcelain, or a combination of materials.
Inlays & Onlays
Inlays and onlays are an alternative to fillings and crowns that are used to restore damaged molars. They provide more structural support than a filling, but are not a complete restoration like a crown. Inlays restore the non-biting areas of the tooth, while onlays restore the biting areas (the cusps) and are designed to be extremely strong.
Bridges are used to replace a tooth that has been lost or extracted. The bridge is an artificial tooth that is attached to your natural teeth. Once in place, the bridge restores the gap left in your smile and blends with the shape and colour of your natural teeth.
